smile wide and eat often

Nov. 22: What is a life well lived to you?

It’s really easy to be alive, but it’s pretty hard to actually live. Although I’ve only had 17 years of experience, I think I’ve figured out what exactly needs to happen in order to live life properly. While this is a list of things that I need to do to live properly, I’m pretty sure it can be applied to other people. So, here it goes:

  1. Good comedy. This is a must. Whether it’s funny friends/people, TV shows, songs, movies or books, sources of humor are totally necessary in life. They make daily life better, and as in my case, they can even inspire you! Whenever life sucks and my mom acts a little crazy, I just put on something funny and I end up feeling a lot better.
  2. Excellent food. As mentioned here, I love food way too much. Even smelling good food can put me in an excellent mood. Eating well is, in my opinion, totally necessary to live life to the fullest.
  3. Smooth tunes. Yes, I do believe that good music is necessary to live well. Music is, and can be so many things all at once. It’s relaxing, invigorating, inspiring, moving and above all, transforming.
  4. Family and friends. I did save the best for last, just in case you were wondering. I’m not feeling very kindly about my family right now, but I do need them. People who can love you back and just, I don’t know, restore your faith in humanity are something something that everyone should have.

If all of this could happen somewhere on or near a beach, that would be the best. Living near a beach is a dream of mine, and one I hope to accomplish. Something about the ocean calms be down and refreshes me. It’s a little odd because I don’t like swimming that much, but hey, whatever works, right?

I do wonder though, what do you think my list is missing? I kept it a little short and simple because those really are the only 4 things I need to live life, but I’m sure that this list is different for other people. So, I’m going to enjoy one of the simple pleasures in life: movie watching.

Love,

Jos :)
